Locality
Templeorum has a fantastic primary school in the village and is on the daily bus route to Carrick-on-Suir and Ballyhale for secondary schools. Kildalton Agricultural College is a mere 9 minutes’ drive and SETU about 30 minutes. Waterford, Kilkenny and Clonmel are all about half an hour’s drive. The M9 is 12 minutes away and from there it is just over 1.5 hours to Dublin.
History
This property was built in 1924 following fire damage to an older residence during the civil war. The owner James Walsh ran a grocery shop in Templeorum and expanded to have a chain of shops in Piltown, Carrick-on-Suir, Ballyhale and Thurles, which was something new to rural Ireland at the time, and a fleet of delivery vans. He had several other businesses, including egg exportation, and employed up to 50 people in Templeorum. The house remained with the Walsh family up to the mid-1990s.
A property like this is a rare find, viewing cannot be recommended enough!
